I REALLY hope NOBODY is accepting that BULLSHIT about PornHub basically OWNING all of the videos WE make. Fuck that, and fuck you, PornHub.
It's wrong. Let's say you're not just doing this for fun. Say you're also trying to turn a profit. Maybe you have bills to pay, maybe you're rebelling against your parents or whatever. PornHub is basically saying, "All that work you did, lighting, shooting, editing, which you more than likely dumped a TON of time and money into if you're aiming to make a career out of this, now belongs to US." If you try to sell it anywhere else, you can potentially be sued out of business... By yourself. The way they word that agreement is WAY clever (until you activate a few brain cells), because they basically waive ANY liability by making it appear as if you AGREE to it. And since NOBODY reads ANYTHING before clicking or signing these days, that pretty much means they DUPED probably a good number of people into going along with this. People who will later find themselves having invested a lot of time and money for ultimately no reason once they are ordered to take down a video on ManyVids because they put it up on PornHub first. It's wrong and prohibits you from ensuring you get the most out of your investment. It eliminates any other way for a producer to profit off their material. It potentially a startup company trying to get a foothold in a business that is already unnecessarily cut-throat and in more than a few instances, horribly exploitative.
The porn industry just got alot shadier, and that's something I never thought was possible.
Considering taking down my profile here and rolling the dice with distributing my content on my own.
